The Sumner girls basketball team finished second in the South Puget Sound League, 2A earning a spot in the subdistrict playoffs that includes Seamount and SPSL teams.
A man and a woman were sent to the hospital Sunday following a stabbing assault near South Prairie.
Fire set a car ablaze in the Papa John’s parking lot in Bonney Lake shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday. The flames had engulfed the car and were shooting up into the air, according to an off-duty reporter who witnessed the incident.

Bonney Lake’s girls basketball team accomplished a devastating 45-19 victory over the Decatur Gators Friday night.
Keenan Jackson more than stepped up to the challenges of the evening, shooting 28 points; for context, his next best scoring night was Dec. 21, when he shot 17 points against Enumclaw. Riley Bruil trailed Jackson with 12 points, and every Spartan shot at least two points.
