CITIZEN ASSIST: On officer spotted a vehicle in the ditch Jan. 23 in the vicinity of state Route 164 and 188th Avenue Southeast. The driver was transported to a gas station for fuel and was to make arrangements to have the vehicle removed from the ditch.
CLOTHING TAKEN: Police were told the afternoon of Jan. 21 of the theft of three pairs of pants and one jacket from a Roosevelt Avenue location. The missing items were valued at $186. A suspect was seen leaving in a black sport utility vehicle but could not be located.

Former Enumclaw High football coach Don Bartel – who guided the Hornet fortunes for four seasons before resigning after the 2011 campaign – has been named the head coach at Eastlake High.
As South Puget Sound League 2A teams head into the stretch drive, the White River High girls continue their quest for a perfect regular season while the Hornet boys are locked in a tight battle for the league’s No. 1 spot.
THREE CHARGED: Police were dispatched shortly after midnight Jan. 19 to a Roosevelt Avenue address and a case of malicious mischief with suspects still on the scene. Three suspects were taken into custody and booked for investigation of malicious mischief and assault.

A blood drive is planned for 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 4 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
SUSPICIOUS: While on patrol the afternoon of Jan. 15, an officer spotted two individuals sitting and smoking at a Semanski Street location. Burglary tools were confiscated from one person and marijuana was taken from the other. The two then continued their walk at Auburn.
A pair of standouts from the Enumclaw High girls soccer team were named to the Class 3A all-state squad. Midfielder Monica Whitfield was a first-team selection and defender Jessica Snoen received honorable mention.
Spiketon Road on Buckley’s south side continues to be blocked Wednesday afternoon, following a fatal, one-vehicle accident.
INJURY ACCIDENT: Police responded the afternoon of Jan. 14 to a two-vehicle accident that resulted in injuries. The incident was at the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and state Route 410. Emergency medical personnel were summoned.
