FIREWORKS: Police officers took five complaints about fireworks, four on New Year’s Eve and one on New Year’s Day. In each case, things were quiet by the time police arrived.
DRUNK DRIVER: Police heard Dec. 28 of an impaired driver at the driver-through window of a Griffin Avenue business. The female motorist was reportedly aggressive and threatening to both employees and other customers before driving off at a high rate of speed. Police soon found here and made an arrest for driving under the influence. Her vehicle was impounded.
DRUNK DRIVER: Police learned of an intoxicated driver who left a Farman Street address and crashed across the street. Officers responded and took the driver into custody for driving under the influence. The incident occurred at 1:45 a.m. Dec. 22.

This game was a battle of the state’s best. Mount Rainier entered the contest ranked No. 1 in the largest division (Class 4A) while White River entered as the No. 1-ranked team in Class 2A.
MAILBOXES DAMAGED: Police dealt with damage to 25 mailboxes the morning of Dec. 21. A homeowner’s president was to provide a list of all property damage and notify the U.S. Postal Service.
The squad went 14-0 in league play to win the South Puget Sound League North championship and finished with an overall mark of 25-4. The girls earned a West Central District title and raced to three victories in the Class 4A state tournament before falling in the finale in the Kingdome to take home the second-place state trophy.

A Buckley business owner is hoping police apprehend the crook who broke into her salon, trashed the place and made off with $600 and miscellaneous merchandise.
ARREST MADE: Police responded the morning of Dec. 16 to a Railroad Street address after hearing of two men leaving a vacant house with bags of wire. After making contact, an officer arrested one of the men for providing a false statement; the suspect also was found to be wanted on a felony arrest warrant issued by Tacoma. The man was taken tot he police station for booking.
The criminal trial for accused Enumclaw pastor Malcolm John Fraser has again been delayed. Once slated to begin in early November, the trial was first pushed to Dec. 11 and last week was moved to Jan. 16.
Gearing up for its 2013 induction ceremony, the Enumclaw High Hall of Fame Committee is looking to the public to help spread the word and, hopefully, contribute some mementos.
There’s no letting up for the girls of the Enumclaw High gymnastics program.
Money was taken but no one was hurt Tuesday evening when a lone gunman robbed the Stop N Shop convenience store.
