When the Enumclaw High School homecoming parade rolled by Mike Huizinga’s window at the corner of Cole Street and Griffin Avenue, he figured he had picked the perfect spot to open his Allstate Insurance office.

It was chance his office opening Oct. 1 at 1540 Cole St. would coincide with the parade, but it seemed right.

The Enumclaw resident is excited about owning his own business and bringing Allstate Insurance to the Plateau.

“Allstate is well known for its auto and home insurance and for being the Good Hands People,” Huizinga said, but mentioned the company also offers life insurance, annuities and more.

“We’re about insuring your car, or building an annuity for your grandkids,” he said.

He and his soon-to-be staff of two, plan to keep the office open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturdays. For information, call 360-625-8653.
