Washington women’s to men’s earnings ratio among lowest nationwide | Bureau of Labor Statistics

The latest BLS News Release showing women’s earnings in Washington is now available online at http://www.bls.gov/ro9/wawomen.pdf.
Items of note include:
- In 2011, Washington women had median weekly earnings of $743, or 74.5% of the $997 median weekly earnings of men
- Nationwide, women earned $684/week, or 82.2% of the $832 median for men
- At 74.5%, women’s earnings as a percent of men’s in Washington ranked 48th in the nation out of 50 states and the District of Columbia
- Women’s weekly earnings in Washington ranked 12th, and men’s 5th, nationwide
