City sets summit for local business

Members of the local business scene are being invited to an economic summit that will seek to identify problems and brainstorm possible solutions to Enumclaw’s current doldrums.
“We have a lot of businesses that are struggling,” Mayor John Wise said, announcing the April 16 session. Things will get rolling at 6 p.m. in the Community Center/Senior Center on Cole Street.
Invited are representatives from all Enumclaw businesses.
Wise said he and city staff will attend the informal gathering.
“Bring us your problems, your ideas and your solutions,” he said.
The business summit is the first step in a two-part process that, Wise hopes, will provide a spark in the business community. Part two will come in the fall, either Oct. 27, and will include representatives from Green River Community College. Wise said details are still being developed.
