New owner settling in at Buckley Vet Clinic

Buckley Veterinary Clinic is under new ownership, now that Dr. Dennette Wood has taken over the established practice along state Route 410.
The purchase was effective Feb. 2 when Wood assumed ownership from Dr. David Gran.
Wood is no stranger to the Plateau, having spent the last five and a half years working at the Timber Ridge clinic in Bonney Lake. Prior to that, she spent time at Country Animal Hospital in Enumclaw.
She is a Northwest native, growing up in Portland, Ore., and splits her loyalties between Washington’s largest universities. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington, then headed east to the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Wood’s goal has been to own a clinic of her own and Gran’s operation was the perfect fit.
“I’ve been looking for quite a few years for a quality clinic,” she said, noting that she did not want to leave the immediate area.
Wood said customers should expect no major changes, other than “there are two of us now.”
Gran will stay on board for at least a year.
A slight change is in the clinic’s Saturday hours. Previously, the office was open only until noon; now, it’s open until 3 p.m.
