Several Enumclaw High School students earned honors for their artwork at the March 13 Puget Sound Educational Service District Regional High School Art Show. The annual show features student work from King and Pierce county high schools.

Dean Bergquist received the People’s Choice Award and Outstanding Achievement in the glass medium for his fused glass frit painting titled “Affinity of the Mountain.” The People’s Choice Award is selected by a vote of the viewing public and visitors to the PSESD.

Morgan Nelson also earned Outstanding Achievement for her jewelry piece titled “Dripping Leaves,” while Conner Wells received an Outstanding Achievement Award for a linoleum reduction print called “Lost in Space.”

Both Bergquist and Nelson are students of Randy Cook.

Kaleigh Mitchell won three awards for her watercolor and ink piece titled “Sleepover.” She earned the Board of Directors Honorable Mention, the King County Executive Award and the Puget Sound ESD Staff Choice Award, which according to teacher Amy Webber, earns Mitchell $200 for her piece which will be part of the PSESD permanent collection.

All the students pieces can be viewed on the online gallery at www.psesd.org/artshow2011/.
