VIRGINIA WILDER

Virginia P. Wilder, a resident of Lakeside Manor Adult Family Home in Enumclaw, died Nov. 15, 2008. She was 89.

She was born Nov. 29, 1918, in San Fran-cisco and was a homemaker. She raised her family in Los Altos, Calif., and Salt Lake City. She enjoyed playing golf, swimming, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years Arthur G. Wilder; son Arthur G. Wilder Jr. and wife Linda of Sebastopol, Calif.; daughters Carol A. Wilder of Mill Valley, Calif., and Peggy Elmer and husband Jeff of Spokane, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will plan a private memorial.

LORETTA SOWDER

Enumclaw resident Loretta Rose (Rossman) Sowder, 77, died Nov. 14, 2008, in Lakewood, Wash.

She was born Sept. 17, 1931, in Rapid City, S.D., moved to Washington in 1943 and to Enumclaw in 1943. She married Howard Sowder on Dec. 10, 1963, in Buckley. She was an active member of St. Catherine’s Circle at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and volunteered at Sacred Heart for many years as an office worker and caregiver. She loved dancing, shopping, winning money playing “31” and spending time with family.

She is survived by her husband Howard Sowder of Enumclaw; sons Wally Remitz and wife Janet of Heron, Mont., and Don Remitz and wife Claudia of Enumclaw; daughter Peggy Butler and husband Norm of Okanogan,Wash.; brothers Richard Rossman of Portland, Ore., Dale Rossman and wife Marge of Tigard, Ore., Paul Rossman of Enumclaw and George Rossman and wife Marleen of Enumclaw; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by infant son Daniel Remitz in 1956; son Frank Gene Remitz in 1992; brothers Joseph, Terrance and Edward Rossman; and sister Virginia DuChateau.

A memorial service took place at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Memorials are suggested to Franciscan Hospice, P.O. Box 1502, Tacoma, 98401, or the Enumclaw Fire Department Aid Car, 1330 Wells St., Enumclaw, 99022.

Arrangements are by Weeks’ Funeral Home of Buckley.
