Rotary names January Students of the Month

The Enumclaw Rotary Club recognized three area students as Students of the Month at its Jan. 15 meeting.

Detron Jones, son of Jessica Williamson and Mike Ingram, was the recipient from Collins High School. Jones has a 3.8 grade-point average and is a student leader at Collins. Interested in all aspects of the automotive industry, he currently works at Les Schwab. Upon graduation from Collins, he plans on getting his Automative Service Excellence (ASE) certification and hopes to specialize in Porsche or European cars.

Luke Renaud, son of Karin and Matt Renaud of Enumclaw, was the recipient from Enumclaw High School. A 3.9 grade-point average student taking Advance Placement classes, Renaud is vice president of Key Club and in the Photography Club. With a strong interest in technology, he also works part-time in Web design. Upon graduation, he plans to attend Washington State University and major in engineering.

Luke Allpress, son of Anne-Marie and Kevin Allpress of Buckley, was the recipient from White River High School. With a 3.95 grade-point average, Allpress is a Running Start student at Pierce College. He is involved in the marching, symphonic and jazz bands and the Just For One Club at the high school and is also an active leader within his church. He plans to attend the University of Washington this fall and major in mechanical or electrical engineering with a minor in education. He hopes to teach math.
