Enumclaw resident Doreen Bowie was left in the cold in early January when her power went out and shut down her furnace. One of her calls was to the Enumclaw Police Department, where the ladies on staff made sure Bowie was doing OK. They made repeated calls during a two-day period, letting Bowie know of available resources and how she could get help. After the emergency, Bowie provided a lunchtime treat for the staff and officers at the department. - Photo by Chris Miles
