Hundreds turned out to participate in Enumclaw’s American Cancer Society Relay For Life Saturday and Sunday at J.J. Smith Elementary School, including a large group of cancer survivors. The survivors took the first lap around the track, followed by a Heros Lap and a team lap. Nearly 40 teams with close to 500 participants made up this year’s Relay. Saturday night, another large crowd gathered for the luminary ceremony. Paper bags with the names of those fighting, or those who have died from, cancer glowed in the darkness. A fundraiser, the Enumclaw Relay For Life made more than $70,000.
