Rock the Green, a free community event to protect the Green River, begins at noon and runs through 8 p.m. Saturday at Kanaskat Palmer State Park.

Hosted by the Middle Green River Coalition, the second annual benefit event will have eight hours of live music including Enumclaw’s Justin Grennan, recently on “The Voice,” as well as a beer garden, silent auction, appearances from Smokey Bear and more.

Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Middle Green River Coalition and its efforts to protect the Green River Gorge and Middle Green River watershed.

Parking is limited. Carpooling is encouraged and overflow parking will be available across from Green River Cycles and Kayaks, 33607 S.E. 309th St., Ravensdale, with a shuttle running every 15 minutes. The Discovery Pass will not be required for entrance.

More information and event schedule is available at www.mgrcrockthegreen.org.
