Gallery 2012 features work of Enumclaw artist Suzanne Popp

April 2, 2012 · 3:44 PM

Enumclaw painter Suzanne Popp’s paintings will be on display Thursday through May 2 at Gallery 2012 in Enumclaw City Hall.

Popp works to create open-ended stories that encourage the observer to find their own conclusions. Painting with intense color and a unique style, her works describe the  things she cares about.

"I love vibrancy and tranquility, and try to catch the energy and solace of places and people dear to me," Popp said. "I like to put down an idea and leave it with something still to tell."

Popp said she is uncovering the joy of painting due to the encouragement of local artists like Roseanne Compagna, Lori Twiggs, Nancy Cary and Ingrid Tonies, Chuck Hubbard and Janet Berthon and the instruction of Lori Maras, Helma Rayscher and Elaine Lynest.

Gallery 2012 is council chambers at City Hall, 1339 Griffin Ave. Hours for the exhibition space are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

For information, call the Enumclaw Cultural Programs office at 360-802-0239.

Aside from her show at Gallery 2012, Popp's studio will be included in the 2012 Enumclaw Artists’ Studio Tours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 12.
