Willie Nelson is on the road again to perform at Puyallup Fair on Sept. 7; tickets on sale April 19
Legendary country artist and American icon Willie Nelson will perform on opening night, Sept. 7, of the Puyallup Fair.
Nelson's concert will follow the 6 p.m. rodeo at the Puyallup Fair & Events Center. The performance is part of Columbia Bank's Puyallup Fair Concert Series and the PRCA Puyallup Pro Rodeo.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. April 19 on the fair website, www.thefair.com/concerts or by phone (888-559-3247) daily, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. To save the convenience charges, purchase tickets in person at the Puyallup Fair & Events Center box office at 9th Avenue Southwest and Meridian Street on Saturdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Two types of tickets will be sold for the concert, either bundling the rodeo and concert together, or standing in the dirt in front of the stage following the rodeo. Tickets for the rodeo and concert are $60 golden saddle; grandstand seating at $40 and $35. Seats are reserved and include fair gate admission. These ticket-holders must remain at their reserved seat for the concert.
Tickets to stand in the dirt following the rodeo are $40 for general admission – first-come, first-stand basis – and include fair gate admission.
Nelson is multi-faceted; he has amassed reputable credentials as an author, actor and activist. He was recognized in 2011 for his Farm Aid efforts by being inducted into the National Agricultural Hall of Fame.
Nelson has written more than 2,500 songs, released 60 studio albums while transcending a range of musical genres, and put a face on social causes like Farm Aid. The bandana-clad artist has a career spanning six decades, with 14 Billboard No. 1 hit songs, including "On the Road Again," "Good Hearted Woman," "To All the Girls I've Loved Before," and "Pancho and Lefty."
More acts at the Puyallup Fair will be announced in the coming months.
