Classical KING FM 98.1 announces online channel dedicated to Mozart

Dec. 17, 2012 – The month of January is dedicated to Mozart both on-air and online Jan. 1 -31 at Classical KING FM 98.1 in recognition of Mozart’s birthday month.  On Jan. 1, KING FM will launch a new channel of all-Mozart music, available at KING.org with no commercial breaks.

The online Mozart Channel will incorporate music by international artists such as Emmanuel Pahud, flutist; Jonathan Biss, pianist; and Anne-Sophie Mutter, violinist as well as performances of Mozart’s music by local music groups such as the Skagit Symphony, Federal Way Symphony, and the Tacoma Youth Symphony with brief commentary by local conductors and musicians.

On the radio listeners will hear at least one piece of music by Mozart every hour, 24 hours a day, through Jan. 31, also airing music performed by both international and local talent. On-air Mozart’s symphonies will be featured the week of Jan. 14-18, from 7am-7pm, and Mozart concertos the week of Jan.4-11 .  Hear Mozart “from A to Z,” showcasing Mozart’s entire catalog of works throughout the rest of the month.   Listeners can access the complete schedule a week ahead at KING.org .

Mozart wrote 41 numbered symphonies. The Paris, Haffner, and Jupiter symphonies are among Mozart’s most popular, along with his Symphony #25, used to great effect in the movie Amadeus and as concert hall standards.
