The Enumclaw Expo Center and Evenings on the Plateau series finalize the season with country singer Johnathan Harris at 7:30 p.m. June 13.

Harris, a singer and songwriter, has been performing around the Pacific Northwest since 1997. He has been warming the stage for a list of country music artists like Merle Haggard, Charlie Daniels Band, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, BlackHawk, Jo Dee Messina, Gary Allan, Asleep At The Wheel, Hal Ketchum, Sammy Kershaw, Trick Pony, Rhett Akins, Chad Brock, Daryle Singletary, Jeff Carson, ShDaisy and Mark Chesnutt.

He was named as one of Jim Beam’s top five artists in the nation. City of Enumclaw Cultural Programs Manager Gary LaTurner notes Harris’ boyish charm on stage and polished voice has earned him a loyal following.

Harris was born and raised in Tacoma and music has always been his passion. His love of country music and the outdoors come straight from his Northwest upbringing. He enjoys fishing, hunting, golfing and snowboarding. He is a heavy equipment operator and is as good with a hammer and saw as he is with a lyric and melody. Harris met his wife, Jessica, at the Western Washington Fair in 1992.

In late 2006, Harris was signed by Region Records in Nashville, Tenn. His new album “Where Concrete Don’t Grow” was released in April 2007. The title cut was written by Harris.

“I love the songs on our latest release,” Harris said in a news release. “From the songs we wrote to the songs we were pitched, I feel we have the best of the best to fit our style.”

LaTurner said ticket prices have been the same for seven years. Grants from 4Culture and support from the city of Enumclaw, Enumclaw Courier-Herald, Puget Sound Energy Foundation and Mutual of Enumclaw Insurance Group make that possible.
