Stage Door Summer Youth Camp and Plateau Community Orchestra received good news recently when the pair of Plateau arts programs were named city of Enumclaw re-granting recipients for 2009.

Stage Door Summer Youth Theatre Camp will receive $2,000 to support the annual program through professional artists’ fees and marketing costs. The camp takes place at Enumclaw High School auditorium.

Plateau Community Orchestra received $1,000 in funds to support music for its performance library.

The purpose of the re-granting program is to encourage the stability, artistic growth and development of local arts groups and individual artists who provide programs or services to Plateau residents. Examples of grants supported in the past include tuition fees for individual artists, monies to support performances for the community and funds to hire professional literary artists to speak about their work and assist local writers’ groups.

The mini-grant program is administered by the city of Enumclaw with financial support from 4Culture of King County and the city of Enumclaw. For more information, call the city of Enumclaw 360-802-0239.
