Bluegrass festival starts Friday

The city of Enumclaw is gearing up this weekend’s bluegrass festival at the Enumclaw Expo Center fieldhouse.

There will be a workshop for bango beginners at 9 a.m. in the Nechville vendor’s tent. Take a banjo and learn to go from one note to a song in one lesson. Several other musicians will also be giving workshops for new and experienced musicians.

Performing will be the VZ Valley Boys, Runaway Train, Country Dave and the Pickn’ Crew, Northern

Departure, Urban Monroes, and a special performance by Tutmarc Brothers with vocalist Paula Tutmarc Johnson. The Gettogethers and the Gullywhumpers will perform Friday afternoon at the Stadium stage. Tickets are available at the Enumclaw Expo Center and will also be available at the fieldhouse during the event. Admission is $35 for three days, $15 for Friday evening, $20 for Saturday and $10 for Sunday morning’s gospel session.
