June 24, 2010 · 4:04 PM
Enumclaw Street Fair organizers are accepting applications for the first Enumclaw Street Fair Idol Vocal Contest.
The contest will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. July 24 at the downtown celebration. Only 22 contestant spots are available and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Qualifying contestants must be age 8 through the graduating class of 2009 and reside in the Enumclaw School District boundaries.
The competition is set with four rounds. Three judges will eliminate contestants without public comments during the first three rounds. The main stage will host the final round with the top three contestants singing a full song of their choice. The winner of the contest will be presented a $100 cash prize and will be the opening act for the mainstage performance immediately after taking the first Enumclaw Idol title.
The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity for young, talented individuals to present their vocal talents and strut their stuff while contributing to the lineup of events at the annual Street Fair.
For information or for an application for the contest, visit www.enumclawstreetfair.com or call 253-405-7179. Applications are also available at Enumclaw Music.
