Enumclaw boys, join the scouts

Troop 422 here in Enumclaw has taught me these things, and it has allowed me to be able to incorporate these things into my own life.

I am writing this letter in order to encourage boys in Enumclaw to consider joining Boy Scouts.

I have participated in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for over ten years.

I have learned lessons of responsibility, survival, first aid, personal management, leadership, working with others, and other important life skills throughout these years.

One of my favorite experiences was a 50 mile backpacking trip which took place over the summer of 2015. It really enforced the importance of managing one’s self, including managing food, water, supplies, and setting up camp every day.

Troop 422 here in Enumclaw has taught me these things, and it has allowed me to be able to incorporate these things into my own life.

I would recommend Boy Scout Troop 422 and Scouting in general because it gives great opportunities for life skills, future jobs, and overall having a good time.

Freedom of religions doesn’t mean imposing your beliefs on the public

To then allow any person or group to inflict its particular religious beliefs upon others would clearly deny our right to freely worship and follow our own beliefs

Businesses should serve the public equally

Many a war has started over “deeply held beliefs’ and religious convictions.

Editor failed to be a fair moderator

Instead of framing the issues and allowing the readers to “form their own opinions on the matters at hand,” the editor chose to apply superfluous labels.

“Deeply held beliefs” no excuse for discrimination

Is it not time that we recognize that “deeply held beliefs,” sometimes are simply wrong?

Southern Poverty Law Center no longer credible

The editor’s use of the SPLC in an opinion piece was flawed.

You, too, have the opportunity to learn abroad

Taking the chance to live abroad in high school is one of those priceless experiences. No matter where you choose to study you will be so thankful you took the risk.

244th is the issue, not the White River bridge

By definition, a chokepoint is a place where too much traffic is entering a space that is too small to hold it, either because the space narrows or excess traffic is entering.

Thank you Murray for increasing Alzheimer’s research funding

As someone who helped care for a mother with Alzheimer’s and who now misses her every day, I understand firsthand the impact this disease has on families across America.

The Fennel Creek Trail will benefit nearby communities

Contrary to the beliefs of some, the increased number of people using trails discourages criminal activities by increasing the number of eyes watching what is going on.

Thank you, Enumclaw, for all of your support

I’ve seen these types of things happening throughout my life in Enumclaw, but recently I have been overwhelmed with the outstanding amount of support the community has shown me personally as I prepare for an internship in Washington, D.C., this summer.

Thank you, Fortunato, for standing up for our neighborhood

My neighborhood in Bonney Lake has been the recent target of the city for its pet project called the Fennel Creek Trail.
