Enumclaw helped raise $3,500 for Special Olympics

The last couple of weekends the St. Barbara Knights of Columbus have been involved with our annual Tootsie Roll Program.

The last couple of weekends the St. Barbara Knights of Columbus have been involved with our annual Tootsie Roll Program. Through this program we get donations for charities that deal with the disabled.

We want to thank the Enumclaw QFC for allowing us a weekend at their store to take donations. We would also like to thank the very generous people of Enumclaw who donated to this great cause. Our Council donates all our proceeds to three charities, Special Olympics, Northwest Center and ARC of King County. We also spent a weekend at Renton Sam’s Club taking donations.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, this year, we were able to collect $3500 for our charities. The St. Barbara Knights have also helped out the Enumclaw community the last several years through our Coats For Kids Program.

The Knights serve a pancake breakfast to our parishioners after mass and all the proceeds go to buying new coats for disadvantaged kids in our area. These coats are then distributed to the families that need them through Plateau Outreach Ministries. On distribution night the Knights also help kids find just the right coats for them. This has been a very rewarding experience to all involved.

A big thanks to POM for assisting us with this program.

Congratulations, Jan Molinaro

In every election, one person must win and the other will lose. Now more than ever, it is important to show our children how to be gracious in victory and humble in defeat.

Molinaro an excellent candidate for Mayor

Following my two interviews with candidate Malinaro, I feel that we are fortunate to have a candidate who is well prepared to provide the leadership we need for a growing community.

The definition of insanity

It is totally clear that the incumbent mayor lacks any ability to bring people together and get things done. She is a failure as mayor, making Black Diamond a laughing stock with her out of control behavior and outbursts at Council meetings.

Baxley and Young should have showed up at public forum

On Tuesday, October 17th, was the Black Diamond Maple Valley Chamber of Commerce Candidates Forum, where the Black Diamond candidates for Mayor and two City Council positions had the opportunity to talk with the citizens of Black Diamond, and to answer questions put to them by these citizens.

Baxley is an important choice for Black Diamond mayor

Judy Baxley has been part of our local civics for years, and thank goodness because citizen involvement is critical to monitoring big developers.

Enumclaw chamber board supports Molinaro for mayor

In an election with significant consequences that will largely shape the future of our community, Enumclaw voters have a clear choice for mayor.

Challenger has no experience working in government

The newspaper’s three-part debate for the position of Black Diamond mayor has been eye opening.

Representative or autocratic government in Black Diamond

I’ve heard conflicting opinions about Black Diamond City Council meetings. Lots of them. So I’ve checked out some of them myself. I called the best authorities and I read the law.

Molinaro supported in Enumclaw mayoral race

Our family enthusiastically supports Jan Molinaro as Enumclaw’s next mayor. His operations and fiscal management along with his leadership experience is superlative and would be greatly valued as a visionary leader of our community.

To Vern, in memorium

I have known the late Vern Anderson and his wife, Eleanor, since we were in high school and would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to them.
