Enumclaw helped raise $3,500 for Special Olympics

The last couple of weekends the St. Barbara Knights of Columbus have been involved with our annual Tootsie Roll Program. Through this program we get donations for charities that deal with the disabled.

We want to thank the Enumclaw QFC for allowing us a weekend at their store to take donations. We would also like to thank the very generous people of Enumclaw who donated to this great cause. Our Council donates all our proceeds to three charities, Special Olympics, Northwest Center and ARC of King County. We also spent a weekend at Renton Sam’s Club taking donations.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, this year, we were able to collect $3500 for our charities. The St. Barbara Knights have also helped out the Enumclaw community the last several years through our Coats For Kids Program.

The Knights serve a pancake breakfast to our parishioners after mass and all the proceeds go to buying new coats for disadvantaged kids in our area. These coats are then distributed to the families that need them through Plateau Outreach Ministries. On distribution night the Knights also help kids find just the right coats for them. This has been a very rewarding experience to all involved.

A big thanks to POM for assisting us with this program.
