ManeStage presents musical version of ‘Pride and Prejudice’

ManeStage Theatre Company will premiere the musical “Pride and Prejudice” in October in Sumner.

“Pride and Prejudice” is a new musical adaptation based on the Jane Austen novel and performed by a cast of more than 30 experienced artists. The show features Angelica Duncan as Elizabeth Bennet, Jay Henson as Mr. Darcy, Shelleigh-Mairi Ferguson as Mrs. Bennet, Corey Long as Mr. Bennet and Paul Walk as Mr. Collins.

The adaptation stays true to Austen’s best-selling love story and is appropriate for audiences of all ages.   

The show is directed and choreographed by ManeStage Theatre Company Executive Director Brenda Henson. The costumers are Judy Brooks, Joelle Collins and Jodi Josephson and the music director is Jennifer Garretson.  

The musical opens at 7 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Sumner Performing Arts Center, 1707 Main St. Performances continue at 2 p.m. Oct. 17; 7 p.m. Oct. 22; 2 and 7 p.m. Oct. 23; with a final show at 2 p.m. Oct. 24. “Pride and Prejudice” marks the opening of ManeStage Theatre Company’s fourth season of providing quality theater for the Sumner, Puyallup and Bonney Lake communities.
