Rock out for a good cause at Rock the Green | Middle Green River Coalition

Run, sip and rock out to benefit the Green-Duwamish watershed.

The Middle Green River Coalition presents the Rock the Green 5K/10K Trail Run and Festival Saturday, Aug. 10, at Green River Community College. Proceeds benefit the Green-Duwmaish Watershed and Middle Green River Coalition’s efforts to protect the Middle Green River area.

 

The 5K/10K trail run organized by Evergreen Trail Runs kicks off the day at 11:30 a.m. The course winds through the Auburn Narrows Natural Area close to the Green River Community College campus. The trails are non-technical and wind through meadows, wetlands, side channels of the Green River and a cottonwood floodplain forest. Advanced registration is required.

 

From 12-4 p.m., the public is invited to Rock the Green – a free festival with live music, booths and microbrews in the courtyard of Green River Community College. Bands include Dana Lyons, Bear Cove Dana Lyons, Night Train, Bear Cove and Howling Rain.

 

Day of run registration and check-in: 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

5K and 10K start: 11:30 a.m.

Course closure: 1:30 p.m.

Festival: 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
