The Gateway Concert Band will present its second concert of the summer, “Summer in the Country,” at 7 p.m. Monday. The concert will be at Rotary Centennial Park on the corner of Griffin Avenue and Railroad Street.

If the weather is too cool or wet, the program will be moved to the auditorium at Enumclaw High School.

There is no admission charge, but a donation of $10 per person is recommended. Those attending are encouraged to take a chair or blanket.

The same program will be presented at 7 p.m. Aug. 20 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Sumner.

The programs are made possible in part by grants from the city of Enumclaw, 4 Culture of King County, and the Muckleshoot Charity Fund.

The Gateway Concert Band is a community band based in Enumclaw and directed by Jack Prindle. Formed in March 1996, it has presented more than 200 performances. The band is open to any interested adult and competent high school instrumentalist, without audition. Rehearsals are from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays at Enumclaw Middle School.
