The MultiCare-Good Samaritan Puyallup Family Center is hosting two free parenting workshops in the Buckley area.
The Happiest Baby on the Block will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Foothills Elementary School, 10621 234th Ave. E., Buckley.
Participants will learn to soothe a crying baby and how to turn on a baby’s calming reflex. The class is based on Dr. Harvey Karp’s best selling book and participants will receive a DVD and soothing sounds CD.
This class is open to parents who are either expecting a baby or have an infant up to 3 months old.
Transition to Parenthood will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. March 15, also at Foothills Elementary.
This workshop is centered on healthy communication for couples who are expecting or who are raising an infant or toddler. Childcare will be provided.
To register for either class, call the family center at 253-845-9177.
