Enumclaw's Dodsons celebrate golden anniversary
Enumclaw residents Ron and Kay Dodson celebrated 50 years of marriage Nov. 29, 2008. They were married Nov. 29, 1958, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Yakima, Wash.
They were surprised Nov. 29 when a Hummer stretch limousine arrived to whisk them, and their entire family, away for a five-hour tour of their favorite spots from their dating years and young life.
The couple met on a blind date. They were married after she graduated with a nursing degree the moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, where he was a bush pilot. In Alaska, they had five daughters – Cathi Dodson,Sue Zender, Margi Dodson, Teri Judkins and Jennifer Stowell.
The family also lived in Salt Lake City, Yakima and Auburn, Wash., before settling in Enumclaw in 1975. He retired from Delta Airlines in 1994 and they have enjoyed their retirement years spending time with family and sharing in their grandchildren’s activities.
