Bead art will be featured as part of city’s Gallery 2009

“The Magic of Beads,” a jewelry exhibit by local artist Sylvia Hillberg, opens the Enumclaw City Hall Gallery 2009 Jan. 6 and runs through Feb. 3.

Hillberg, a retired homemaker and longtime resident of Enumclaw, is also a photographer. She enjoys designing and making jewelry. The art show in the entry lobby display case at City Hall features her creations.

She works with all forms of glass, crystal and natural stone. She has won several blue ribbons at the King County Fair and has taught jewelry-making classes at the Enumclaw community center.

According to city of Enumclaw cultural programs manager Gary LaTurner, Hillberg is also an excellent photographer and has had exhibits at Green River Community College and the Enumclaw community center.

Hillberg is one of many artists in the Enumclaw area the city of Enumclaw will be showcasing.

City Hall is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For information, call 360-802-0239.
