Shockingly Simple CampaignIt's shockingly simple to save a life. Today, the Emergency Medical Services Division of Public Health - Seattle & King County launched the Shockingly Simple Campaign to increase adoption and registration of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in King County. AEDs send an electric shock to the heart if a life-threatening condition called sudden cardiac arrest strikes.
Family Reunification Day celebrates children’s return home

The majority of children who are removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect and placed into foster care are able to return safely to their families. King County Family Reunification Day, will be held June 29 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Seattle’s Pacific Science Center (with reception to follow), celebrates the efforts made by families to safely bring children back home after they have been in foster care.

Average retail gasoline prices in Seattle have fallen in the past week, averaging $4.19/g yesterday. This compares with the national average that has fallen in the last week to $3.56/g, according to gasoline price website SeattleGasPrices.com.

But today's jobless teens and young adults can respond to their parents, without snark (but probably adding a little snark, anyway): "No one's hiring."

“Plan with the end in mind.” This is one of the seven points in the book “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen Covey. I think it applies to the recent decision by voters to go with the King County Library System rather than keep control of our own library. There were two different and competing visions for Enumclaw in that close vote. Consider the two perspectives, because how Enumclaw will look 20 years from now will depend on which vision is accepted by the residents.
