A Tacoma man was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Tacoma to 23 years in prison and five years of supervised release for seven counts related to the sex trafficking of juveniles and adult women, announced U.S. Attorney Jenny A. Durkan.

I saw a report on the Web last week about some guy who did a study correlating recessions to lingerie, whatever that is. I think the study should have correlated haircuts to the economy.

East Pierce Fire and Rescue firefighters and Sumner Police officers responded to a vehicle that had veered off Main Street into a building at the Fred Meyer Shopping Center in the 15000 block of Main Street in Sumner. The incident occurred just after 7 a.m. Saturday.

Convicted Enumclaw pastor Malcolm Fraser appeared in King County Superior Court again Tuesday morning. Fraser spoke before Judge Lori K. Smith as he and his defense team had filed a formal "motion to arrest judgement" and asked for a new trial. The judge denied the request.
