Two Enumclaw brothers died following a Saturday night automobile accident in Tacoma. Jared Davis, 8, and 11-year-old Jordan Davis died after leaving a Monster Truck Show at the Tacoma Dome, according to regional news reports.

Black Diamond ex-City Administrator Leonard Smith files claim for severance against city

A new administration has taken over, but, the issues that have plagued Black Diamond during the past few months are far from over. Leonard Smith, the former city administrator who was terminated Dec. 8, has filed a claim against the city seeking severance pay. Because the 62-year-old Smith was fired for cause, he was not given severance compensation.

It wasn't the 79-0 score that made Enumclaw High's South Puget Sound League 3A wrestling win over Sumner Jan. 27 big, it was the emotion. For the Hornets, the road win put the cap on a perfect 8-0 South Puget Sound League 3A season and the league title, the team's fourth in a row. It was also the Hornets' 32nd-straight league victory.

Pickup hits telephone pole in Black Diamond Sunday | Driver airlifted to trauma center

A 35-year-old man driving a pickup at a high speed hit a telephone pole along state Route 169 in Black Diamond at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday. According to a release from Tim Perciful, spokesman for Mountain View Fire and Rescue, the pole fell and power lines were on the ground. When firefighters and emergency personnel arrived they found the pickup upside down.

Man found dead from apparent suicide in Flaming Geyser Park

The King County Sheriff's Department reported a 38-year-old man was found dead at 9:45 a.m. today in Flaming Geyser Park near Black Diamond. According to Sgt. John Urquhart, sheriff's department spokesman, the Auburn man was found by a visitor in the park. The initial investigation indicates the man died from suicide. The man was reported missing by family members yesterday.

An Enumclaw man got an unpleasant surprise on Valentine’s Day as he stopped to get gas at the Safeway gas station in Four Corners. According to Sgt. John Urquhart, spokesman for the King County Sheriff’s office, the “man parked his car, left it unlocked and the keys in the ignition while he walked a few feet away to talk to his wife, who was in a second car.”
