Running start Sessions are at 5:00-5:45 & 6:00 to 6:45. This event is for students and parents grades 6-12. Representatives will be available to help students navigate through the world of post-season opportunities. (Please see attachment regarding Beyond High School.

The Metropolitan King County Council today appointed Larry Jensen to serve as a Fire Commissioner for King County Fire District (KCFD) #28. KCFD #28 provides service to the city of Enumclaw and the surrounding plateau.

DISTURBANCE: Police were called the evening of July 28 to a Burger Place address where a family member had been drinking, was threatening to harm himself and was attempting to drive a vehicle. Police contacted the individual in question, then contacted emergency medical personnel who transported the person to St. Elizabeth.

ARREST WARRANT: An officer on patrol the evening of July 31 spotted a known subject on Griffin Avenue and a computer check confirmed the person was wanted on a felony arrest warrant for residential burglary. The individual was taken to the Enumclaw station and held until picked up by county authorities.

VEHICULAR ASSAULT: Police responded at 11:24 p.m. Aug. 12 to Railroad Street and Griffin Avenue and a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident. They found a male victim in the roadway with a back injury. The female driver was taken into custody for vehicular assault while the man was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital.

MARIJUANA: A driver was pulled over at 2:10 a.m. Aug. 14 for failing to stop at a stop sign. The juvenile, male driver was then arrested for possession of less than 40 grams of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

For the second time this summer, a rabid bat was found at Madison Park in Seattle (located at E Madison St and E Howe St). The bat was discovered by a park visitor as it clung to the bottom of a tree on the playground on Saturday, Aug. 17.

Police responded to Cole Street at 7:49 a.m. Aug. 15 after hearing of a man who was kicking and pounding on the doors and windows of downtown businesses. After being contacted and counseled, the man agreed to go home.
