The King County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at approximately 8:30 p.m. Sunday from three people reporting they saw a skull submerged in the Green River east of Ravensdale.

The three, two men ages 22 and 25, and a woman, 21, told deputies they knew it was a human skull because of they’d seen skulls “on TV and in the movies,” according to a Sheriff's Office press release.

The three pointed out to deputies where they saw the skull and a deputy waded into the river but couldn’t find anything.

There was to be additional investigation Monday.

Monday afternoon, the Sheriff's Office released the following:

"The Sheriffs’ Office Dive Team and detectives met at the Green River site with the folks who reporting seeing the skull last evening. The divers did not locate a skull or other bones. They do not intend to resume the search."
