Emergency roadway repair to close SR 162 tonight

Emergency roadway repair work closes state Route 162 near Bowman-Hilton Road tonight, Thursday, Sept. 30.

Beginning at 10 p.m., Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) maintenance crews close both direction of SR 162 near Sumner. The roadway reopens to traffic at 6 a.m.

During the closure, signed detours will be in place for motorists. Detour routes are:

·Eastbound traffic on SR 162 will go right onto Pioneer Road, left onto Shaw Road and then left onto Military Road.

·Westbound traffic on SR 162 will turn left onto Military Road, right onto Shaw Road and right onto Pioneer Road.

Emergency vehicles will be given access onto SR 162 throughout the closure.
