Benefit planned for 5-year-old
October 5, 2010 · Updated 11:20 AM
A benefit is planned for 5-year-old Buckley resident Regan Englehardt.
Englehardt has Dravet Syndrome, also known as severe myoclonic epilepsy of infancy, a rare and catastrophic form of epilepsy for which there is no cure. She needs both specialized equipment for her bed and a seizure-alert dog to help her parents respond more quickly to her seizures.
A buffet dinner is scheduled from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Buckley Eagles. The cost is $10 per person or $25 for a family, up to four people. A silent and live auction will follow at 8 p.m. A special performance by Aces Up is also scheduled.
Ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Dravet Syndrome Foundation to benefit research and a cure.
