SWAT team raid wakes neighbors

Residents just north of Enumclaw were awakened the morning of Sept. 28 to the sound of an explosion.

A spokesman with the King County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the county’s SWAT team responded to the 26300 block of Southeast 424th, assisting members of the Auburn Police Department who were executing a search warrant. The sound was from a so-called “flash-bang” device that is traditionally tossed into a residence before officers enter. Auburn’s narcotics unit that was the lead agency.

An Auburn spokesman said two adults, one man and one woman, were arrested. The execution of the search warrant and subsequent arrests, he said, were part of an ongoing investigation. He said a variety of narcotics were involved.
