The Enumclaw High track and field crew will kick off the 2011 season with the annual jamboree hosted by Sumner High, the sixth year under the guiding hand of coach Jenelle Stussy.

Stussy and her assistants have about 100 athletes turning out, about the average crowd, with a lot of familiar faces missing. Graduation took quite a toll on the program, but some proven veterans are back. On the boys’ side, Larry Calvert returns a season after qualifing for the state meet, and distance runner Cory Johnson is another proven commodity. Among the girls, Emily Eilertson will again be running and AnnaMarie Forza will be throwing the javelin.

“Things have started out really nice,” Stussy said. “We have a lot of new faces and it’s going to be a great surprise this year.”
