White River FFA students earn spot in state competition

Twenty-two White River High School students have qualified for the state FFA competition in Pullman May 11-15.
To advance to state, students had to finish in the top five at the district FFA contest March 23 at Yelm High School.
The Hornets’ rituals team of Maddie Budnich, Hailee Maas, Megan Miller, Austin Isaacs, Kaitlyn Miller and Kylie Courville was a first-place finisher.
Sarah Kahout won the prepared public speaking event and the job interview portion of the competition.
Teammate Mikey Burley finished third in job interview, while fellow Hornets Kayla LeTourneau was fourth and Christina Ramous placed fifth.
Haley Mass placed second in the creed contest with Maddie Budnick fourth.
Mackenzie Daschofsky finished fifth in extemporaneous public speaking.
