State veterinarian to speak in Enumclaw June 9 on equine herpes virus

Washington State Veterinarian Dr. Leonard Eldridge will address the equine herpes virus 1 situation at 6:30 p.m. June 9 at the Enumclaw Sales Pavilion.

The session is sponsored by Dr. Richard Vetter of Performance Equine Veterinary and Ron Mariotti of the Sales Pavilion.

Topics include the history of the virus, the present event and updates, what is known about EHV, frequently asked questions about the outbreak, how it is being handled and how other states are dealing with the issue.
