Friends and family are inviting the community to share in the Amy Kristin Hanford Erwin Memorial Hike, planned for Saturday morning at Mount Peak.

Erwin, an Enumclaw resident and a Bonney Lake elementary school teacher, recently died during a domestic situation. Organizers note how she gathered with friends three times a week to tackle the challenging, mile-long trek to the summit.

Those wishing to participate in the memorial event are asked to start their hike at 9 a.m., departing from the trailhead at the corner of 276th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 472nd Street. There will be a brief ceremony at the top, beginning at 10 a.m.
