Schroeder named to Enumclaw School Board position

The Enumclaw School Board was set to swear in April Schroeder as its newest member Monday night during its regular meeting.

The board appointed Schroeder during a special meeting June 14. The board also interviewed state Rep. Cathy Dahlquist, who vacated the seat in December 2010 when she was elected to the House. Dahlquist’s seat was filled by Tamarah Hancock. Hancock resigned after discovering her home sits outside the District 2 boundary.

Schroeder, who has been an active board member with the Sunrise Elementary School PTA and was a coordinator for the district’s sixth-grade camp effort, has put her name on the November ballot, running unopposed.
