One young man was killed and another injured during a single-car crash in Buckley.
The incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday on 112th Street East, near the point where 112th meets state Route 410.
Buckley Police Chief Jim Arsanto was hesitant to release details by mid-day Wednesday, as an investigation was ongoing.
"At this point in the investigation, we're looking at felony hit-and-run and vehicular homicide," he said.
Details remain sketchy, but Arsanto confirmed a Pontiac passenger car was traveling eastbound on 112th. There were two males in the vehicle, he said, a 17-year-old from Puyallup and a 19-year-old from the Bonney Lake area. The chief said the 17-year-old died at the scene and the 19-year-old was injured.
The survivor did not call for help, Arsanto said, instead phoning a friend. The survivor was picked up and taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Enumclaw before being transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
