The Enumclaw Expo Center will come alive Saturday with the sights and sounds of snowmobile racing.

The snowmobile grass drags will feature everything from kids’ races to 500-horsepower machines. Gates will open at 8 a.m. and racing begins at 9:30.

Those wishing to compete can sign up from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday or between 7 and 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Race fees are $30 per class.

Those preferring to simply watch the competition – in which snowmobiles will be zooming over a grass strip in drag race fashion – will pay an admission fee of $5.

There also will be a “show and shine” event for those displaying their snowmobiles and free snowmobile rides will be offered.
