October 13, 2011 · 10:42 AM
The King County Agriculture Commission is coming to the Enumclaw Plateau Oct. 20 for a meeting that will include a session on the equestrian industry and provide an opportunity for those in the equestrian community to educate commissioners on the economics and issues facing local horse owners.
The meeting is set for 5 to 8 p.m. in Room 142 of the 100 Building at Enumclaw High.
In addition to a panel discussion focusing on equestrian issues, agriculture commissioners will also hear a report on agricultural drainage maintenance. There also will be time on the agenda for participating citizens to raise other issues and ask questions of commissioners.
The King County Agriculture Commission consists of 15 members, all appointed by the county executive. Eight of the commissioners must be producers engaged in the business of producing an agricultural commodity for market in commercial quantities. All members serve three-year terms.
