Malcolm Fraser, Enumclaw assistant pastor of Sound Doctrine Church, plead not guilty to charges of first-degree rape of a child and the next court date for the case is April 19 according to the King County Prosecutor's spokesman Dan Donohoe.

The court date is for case setting hearing.

Fraser entered a plea of not guilty Thursday, April 5,  during a King County Superior Court arraignment hearing.

Fraser, 39, is accused of sexual misconduct with a girl less than 12 years old. The alleged crimes were said to have happened seven years ago while he and his wife were living in the girl’s home.

Fraser was accompanied by his wife and about six other members of the church during the arraignment. The plea was entered in Courtroom GA at the Regional Justice Center in Kent.

Fraser has been ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.

He is being represented by Seattle attorney Ann Carey. She declined to offer a comment following Thursday morning’s hearing.

Also attending the arraignment were three former members of the church, including founders Dennis Myers and Athena Dean. Myers and his wife left in 2003 and Dean around the end of 2011. Both cited disappointment and disillusionment with the direction of the leadership of the church.

Fraser is alleged to have had repeated sexual contacts with the girl during 2005 and 2006. The girls is now 17.

The afternoon of March 20, Fraser was arrested at the office of Winepress Publishing, 1730 Railroad St. in downtown Enumclaw. Sound Doctrine Church owns that business, as well as Salt Shaker Christian Bookstore, another downtown venture.
