'Boots and Badges' basketball charity at Enumclaw High

The third annual Boots and Badges charity basketball game pitting firefighters against police officers in a battle for hardwood supremacy tips off Saturday at Enumclaw High School.

Organized once again by former Sgt. Brian Lynch of the Black Diamond Police Department, a former Enumclaw officer, the game will feature members of the Enumclaw, Bonney Lake, Auburn and Kent police departments taking on a team from Enumclaw Fire/District 28.

All money will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

In the past two years, the game has raised almost $15,000 in support of cancer-fighting research, according to Lynch.

This year’s game will also feature a halftime show by Heavy Hammer, a bagpipe and drum corps containing members of the Buckley Fire Department.

The night will also include raffles, including a five-night stay at a condo in Ocean Shores, Wash., or the chance to win Mariners tickets.

Tickets to the event are $5. Doors open at 6 p.m. with game time scheduled for 7 p.m.
