Expect delays on I-90 over holiday weekend | WSDOT
May 26, 2012 · 9:40 AM
Drivers should expect delays on I-90 over the holiday weekend between Cle Elum and Easton and between Hyak and Keechelus Dam. Two lanes will be open in both directions, but drivers will experience narrow shoulders and reduced speeds in the work zone over the holiday weekend. Drivers are encouraged to check WSDOT’s predicted travel volumes on all key weekend travel routes.
To minimize impacts to holiday travelers, crews will not be working on I-90 on Friday, May 25, through Monday, May 28, and near Easton, crews reopened I-90 to all lanes.
After Memorial Day, crews are switching to night work on Tuesday, May 29, and will wrap up the I-90 Lake Easton to Big Creek project sometime in July.
After the holiday weekend, crews will blast the slopes of I-90 east of the summit on Tuesday, May 29, Wednesday, May 30, and Thursday, May 31, from 7:30 pm. to 8:30 p.m. Crews will close I-90 in both directions from Hyak (milepost 54) to the Price Creek Sno-Park (milepost 61) for about an hour. This work is weather dependent and is subject to change.
