Speed limit temporarily reduced on I-90 near North Bend beginning Tuesday

May 26, 2012 · 9:47 AM

Drivers using westbound I-90 near North Bend will face a temporary speed limit reduction beginning Tuesday.

Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation are repaving the westbound I-90 bridge deck over SR 18. Because of narrowed lanes and shoulders, the speed limit between mileposts 28 and 25 will be reduced from 70 to 60 miles per hour. This change, which is enforceable by the Washington State Patrol, will be in effect until Sunday, June 10. Signs will notify drivers of the change.

In addition to the speed limit reduction, crews have reduced westbound I-90 near SR 18 to two lanes around-the-clock. For more information on the project, please visit: www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/I90/SR18BridgeDeckRehab/.
