Monday, September 10

Metropolitan King County Council – 1:30 p.m.

Councilmembers are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:

  • An ordinance establishing a performance management action team to connect agency performance and budgeting to the King County Strategic Plan goals and priorities in order to enhance transparency and accountability to the public (Ordinance 2012-0367).


Tuesday, September 11

Government Accountability, Oversight and Financial Performance Committee – 9:30 a.m.


  • King County’s Office of Law Enforcement Oversight Risk Assessment Report of the King County Sheriff’s Office (Briefing 2012-B0141).


Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly recommend to the full council:

  • A motion related to improving individual and organizational accountability of the King County sheriff’s office and increasing effectiveness of the office of law enforcement oversight; following up on a performance audit of the sheriff’s office internal investigations operations and the effectiveness of law enforcement oversight; and adopting a performance audit action plan to implement recommendations of the King County auditor (Motion 2012-0366).
  • An ordinance creating boundaries for Unincorporated Community Service Areas (Ordinance 2012-0267).


Law, Justice and Health and Human Services Committee – 1:30 p.m.

Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly recommend to the full council:

  • A motion regarding cyberbullying in unincorporated King County (Motion 2012-0365).
  • A motion calling on the Washington state Legislature to adopt legislation relating to juvenile firearms and weapons crimes and that those penalties allow juveniles adjudicated for offenses in which a firearm is used to be committed to the Juvenile Rehabilitation Authority (Motion 2012-0216).


  • Emergency Medical Services Task Force Recommendations Report (Briefing 2012-B0140).


Wednesday, September 12

2012 Comprehensive Plan Review Committee—9:30 a.m. ***Special Meeting***

Committee members are scheduled to discuss:

  • An ordinance relating to comprehensive planning and permitting (Ordinance 2012-0103).

The committee will take public comment. Proposed striking amendment S-1 to 2012-0103 is now available on the Council’s Comprehensive Plan Website.


King County Ferry District Executive Committee – Cancelled


Regional Policy Committee – 3:00 p.m.

Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly recommend to the full council:

  • A motion accepting the annual progress report on the implementation of the King County veterans and human services levy service improvement plan (Motion 2012-0253).


  • Update on Solid Waste Issues (Briefing 2012-B0143).
