Over the next few months there will be some construction along state Route 410 at the northeast corner of the intersection at Warren Street.
Enumclaw’s first gateway monument sign will rise up and take form.
The final design elements are still being locked down, but the plan is for a length of 20 to 25 feet and about six to eight feet tall.
The Design Committee selected the Pacific Northwest conceptual design in August. The budget expenditure of $20,000 was approved by the City Council in the 2012 budget.
The Design Committee spent time looking at a dizzying number of sign from around the state and beyond presented by Matt Mathes from Mathes Urban Design in Bellevue. The committee settled on the Pacific Northwest design.
Ericka Shook, community planning director, said the plan is for the sign to be completed by the end of the year, depending on the weather.Contact Enumclaw Courier Herald Editor Dennis Box at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-360-825-2555 (ext 5050).
